The story behind the business name is tied to my roots. In Georgian, Gogo means "girl" and is an ode to my father who called me his "gogo". A business concept built on my love of community, family, travel and my international upbringing.
UPDATE: Currently, my work at the moment allows me to travel doing hair which allows me to stay connected to friends and family both in the DMV and NYC. When booking please specify which location you are in. If schedule conflicts with my travel dates I will reschedule you.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: MARIA TSAGURIYA
“Art and beauty have an infinite conversation. I wish to bring more beauty into the world and my main motivation is helping people by enhancing their already beautiful natural look in a creative way and elevate guests into the latest fashion by educating them on current techniques, ways to care for their skin, hair, eyebrows and lashes. Building trust between clients and a stylist is very important to me and it requires honesty from both parties and listening to what you desire and what I can create.
In 2009 I received a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology(NYC). I now utilize my art background to sculpt and paint on guests to make them into works of Art. My knowledge of color theory, design, painting techniques, precision and form have all helped me to transform clients. Stylists aren’t magicians though and if you are looking for big changes it does takes time and effort. My prices reflect the level of my experience and the elevated work I offer with a focus on complimenting bone structure, their lifestyle and helping clients learn how to maintain their style.
In 2011 I continued training in modern day scissor, razor cutting and color at Arrojo Cosmetology School in Tribeca, with an apprenticeship with Cristiano Cora creative director of Vidal Sassoon in NYC. Additional education with Redken, Wella, Lihah Phan, Fellow Barber, Badlands Salon and Tommy Gun Salon. Permanent Makeup education and certification with Arch Envy in Bethesda. Estheticians apprenticeship at Vital Day Spa in current skin care and waxing and Lash Extensions certification from The Luxe Aesthetic in Silver Spring.”

“With 13 years of experience behind the chair at NYC’s best salons and barbershops, I specialize in layered long haircuts, curly, short hair, textured razor cut, and barber for all genders, orientations, lifestyles and ethnic backgrounds. As an artist, I weave foil highlights, paint balayage, and create striking bleach and tones that dazzles with special effect colors for creative vibrancy, as well as unique pastel tones expertly custom mixed. I love to teach people the in’s and outs about how to maintain your hair, skin, eyebrows and eyelashes for a radiant appearance. Certified in skin care, permanent makeup, eyelash extensions, tinting and waxing.”

“I currently hold a duel license in cosmetology in NYC and Maryland and work in both locations. Available to take appointments in North Bethesda and NYC.
Find me working privately at The Vital Day Spa is located in a naturally beautiful environment near Rock Creak Park in North Bethesda at my families business or working from my private studio in NYC. If you wish to book me at a salon, you can find me at Privai Salon at Pike & Rose, Maryland every other weekend Fri to Sun.
